Bond Charters (“we,” “our,” or “us”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information of our clients, guests, and website visitors. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share your information in connection with our yacht charter services.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information necessary to safely operate yacht charters, comply with maritime regulations, and provide high-quality service.

a. Personal Information

This may include:

  • Full name and contact details (email, phone number, address)
  • Date of birth and nationality (when required)
  • Government-issued identification or passport details (for customs, marina, or maritime compliance)
  • Emergency contact information
  • Payment and billing information
  • Charter preferences and special requests

b. Guest and Passenger Information

For safety and regulatory purposes, we may collect:

  • Passenger names and counts
  • Medical or mobility information voluntarily disclosed for safety or accommodation purposes
  • Dietary preferences or allergy information

c. Technical and Usage Information

When you visit our website, we may collect:

  • IP address and browser type
  • Device and operating system information
  • Pages visited and booking interaction data

2. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to:

  • Process yacht charter bookings and contracts
  • Ensure onboard safety and emergency preparedness
  • Process payments and deposits
  • Communicate regarding itineraries, weather updates, changes, or service-related notices
  • Customise your charter experience
  • Improve our services and website functionality
  • Comply with legal, insurance, and regulatory obligations
  • Send marketing communications and offers

3. Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal data. We may share information only when necessary, including:

  • With captains, crew members, and vessel operators for operational and safety purposes
  • With marinas, port authorities, customs, or law enforcement agencies as required by law
  • With payment processors and booking service providers
  • With insurers or legal advisors when required for claims or compliance
  • With advertising and analytics platforms (including Google and Meta) to measure the effectiveness of our marketing campaigns. When booking data is shared for this purpose, personal identifiers such as email addresses and phone numbers are cryptographically hashed before transmission, meaning the platforms receive an irreversible code rather than your actual details. This processing is carried out under our legitimate interest in understanding which advertising channels generate bookings, so that we can allocate our marketing budget effectively. You may object to this processing at any time by contacting us using the details in Section 11, and we will suppress your data from future transmissions to these platforms.

All third parties are contractually required to process your information in accordance with applicable data protection law. Retention of data by third-party platforms is governed by their own data policies.

4. Cookies and Online Tracking

Our website uses a cookie consent banner that allows you to choose which categories of cookies are active during your visit. The categories are:

  • Necessary cookies: required for core website functionality such as booking forms and navigation. These cannot be disabled.
  • Analytics cookies: used by services such as Google Analytics to help us understand how visitors use our website, including pages visited and time spent on site.
  • Marketing cookies: used by advertising platforms such as Google Ads and Meta (Facebook/Instagram) to measure whether our advertisements lead to bookings and to show you relevant advertisements on other websites.

Analytics and marketing cookies are disabled by default and are only activated if you choose to accept them.

In addition to browser-based cookies, we use server-side technology to send booking confirmation data directly to our advertising platforms when a purchase is completed. This operates independently of cookies and uses hashed (irreversibly encoded) personal data to match bookings to advertising clicks. This helps us measure advertising performance accurately whilst minimising the personal data involved. The lawful basis for this processing is legitimate interest, as described in Section 3.

You may withdraw your cookie consent at any time by clicking the cookie settings link on our website.

5. Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards to protect personal information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. While we strive to protect your data, no electronic transmission or storage method is completely secure.

6. Data Retention

We retain personal information only as long as necessary to:

  • Fulfil charter services
  • Meet maritime recordkeeping requirements
  • Comply with tax, insurance, and legal obligations

Information no longer required is securely deleted or anonymised.

7. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to:

  • Access personal information we hold about you
  • Request corrections or updates
  • Request deletion, subject to legal retention requirements
  • Object to or restrict certain processing activities

Requests may be submitted using the contact information below.

8. Third-Party Websites

Our website may contain links to third-party sites (such as booking platforms or marina services). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these external websites.

9. Children’s Privacy

Bond Charters does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 18 without parental or legal guardian consent.

10. Updates to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect operational, legal, or regulatory changes. The revised policy will be posted with an updated effective date.
